The colored powder is 100% SAFE for people and the environment and is non-toxic.

  • Is the color washable? Yes, it does wash out of your clothes, skin and hair. It is safe to use on grass as well. It is recommended to wear white clothes that you don’t care about getting stained because it can stain if it gets wet.
  • Is the powder safe and non-toxic? Yes. The powder is 100% SAFE for people and the environment and is non-toxic. It is food grade and the safest on the market. Children participating must be at least 8 years of age and, sorry, no pets allowed.
  • What is the color powder made of? All of our powder is colored cornstarch.
  • Does the powder come off? Most of the powder will dust right off with a few tugs on your clothing but bring a plastic bag or towel to place on your car seat to help contain the powder.
  • What color will the powder be? You will be splashed with pink, blue, red, orange, yellow and green powder at various splash zones.
  • What will the Y provide? You will receive a YMCA white T-shirt and sunglasses for the Color Run. Make sure to wear both. Your white shirt will allow the color to show up and the sunglasses are there to help keep the powder from your eyes. Don’t forget to close that mouth while running through the splash zones. While it is food, it’s not the meal of choice.
